As a mother of young children I understand the phrase “silence is golden” rather well! :)  Once upon a time I was the first up in our family.  I had a chance to go for a walk in the early morning light and it was beautiful.  Since my nervous breakdown, my medication has made it a little more difficult to be the first awake in the morning.  My body needs some help to sleep at the moment and the medication makes me rather sleepy first thing.  Often I’m the last person awake in the family at the moment.

I have to admit, I miss my early mornings.  This morning I happen to be the first one up.  The silence really is golden.  Not only that, but looking out my kitchen window, I can see the countryside bathed in a golden glow as the sun makes it’s way into the new day.  It was a sight that really filled my heart with praise.

Our God is the creator and Lord of everything.  “The earth is the Lord’s and everything in it”, Psalm 24:1.  I sometimes wonder how anyone can experience a sunrise and NOT praise God.  He KNOWS us.  He UNDERSTANDS what we need.  He understands our need for silence and our love for beauty.

What an awesome God we have!!!

Dear God,  Thank you for the sunrise.  Thank you for the silence.  Help me to appreciate every small detail that you have blessed me with in life.  You truly are an AWESOME and AMAZING God.  I love you with all my heart.  Amen.
